The first Caballus horse that the Club has bought is currently without a name - feel free to contribute your thoughts as to what he should be called via our email.
He is a gorgeous son of Showcasing, a proven stallion that is one of the leading sources of speed among modern European stallions, and Margaret’s Mission a mare by the legendary sire Shamardal.
He is based at Whatcombe, near Lambourn in the UK, where trainer Oliver Cole has taken over from his father – the Derby-winning former champion trainer.
Oliver has access to an embarrasement of toys with which to transform a horse in to a champion.
He has his own lush gallops – wood chip and turf. He has an equine swimming pool for giving the horses a varied exercise regime. An indoor school, which ensures consistent, year-round training, and even an equine sauna - and we all know how trendy they are for humans right now.
But his pride and joy? Almost certainly the quad bike that he rides on every day alongside his galloping horses so he can see all of his horse’s exercises up close, and deliver instruction to his riders.
"We have a quad bike that goes upsides them and films everything and I can always shout out to them: 'slow down a bit',” he tells Caballus Club members in our latest video with him. Watch it above.
“We try to do everything we can just to make sure that everything goes completely right.”
